IFLY on IDrive Orlando gives discounts and classes
A 25 percent discount is being offered to first-time fliers and repeat customers of iFly, the indoor-diving attraction on International Drive in Orlando.
The deal is good on “weekday flights” through Oct. 31. the basic first-time flyer package starts at $69.95, according to the iFly website.
The attraction, which moved from its previous location on I-Drive into a new building near the Orange County Convention Center earlier this year, features side-by-side vertical wind tunnels. Flyers, decked out in jump suit and helmets, float freely in the 12-foot-wide flight chambers powered by electric motors.
Fans above the chambers draw air up and then down the sides of the tunnel. The wind turns in the bottom of the tunnel — below street level — and then back up to lift skydivers.
The attraction’s new Flight School is now available for flyers between the ages of 4 and 16. The weekly, two-hour sessions are limited to 10 people for one-on-one training with an instructor certified by the International Bodyflight Association.
A single session costs $69.95; a one-month program of four sessions sells for $239.80.
A monthly “all abilities night” at iFly is designed for people with physical and cognitive challenges in a supportive environment. This package includes preflight training, flight gear (suit, helmet, goggles) and two, 1-minute flights for $39.95.
The next “all abilities night” will be Oct. 20.
